Moving from your current supplier is simple
However some broadband suppliers will try their best to persuade you to stay with them offering you deals or make things sound more complicated than it really is.
Do Not Cancel Your Broadband
The most important thing you need know is that under no circumstances should you use the word cancel or cease. If you instruct your current supplier to cease or cancel the broadband you will not be able to order any new broadband services for at least 2 weeks. What you do need to say is that it is your intention to migrate your broadband service to a new supplier.
Get your MAC key
All you need from your current supplier is a MAC key. The Migration Authorisation Code (MAC) is consists of 17-18 letters, numbers and slashes and usually provides a 28-day period to move your broadband seamlessly from your old provider to Easykey.
Once you have your MAC key (usually emailed to you) all you need to do is forward it to Easykey and we can then start off the transfer process. Your broadband will continue to work with your current supplier and we will be able to inform you of the estimated switch over date (usually 5 to 10 working days). At that point your broadband may stop working. We will do our best to time it so we re-configure your router with the new easykey settings and you are back up and running with little or no disruption to your broadband service.
